For the new folks who have joined football in the past year or two and for those not on the madness mailing list, if you are interested in joining a madness pool, here’s your chance. You have until 12:15pm EDT tomorrow to get your picks in so do it tonight before you forget.

As with football, you get rewarded for correct upset picks. Each matchup is scored as follows:
(ESPB + (Winning Seed - Losing Seed)) * RW
where:
ESPB = Even Seed Point Base = 20
RW = Round Weight for the 6 rounds is 2,3,4,6,9,12
Thus, if a 16 seed beats a 1 seed, a player crazy enough to pick that would score (20 + (16-1))*2 =70 pts. Conversely, 1 beating the 16 would score (20 + (1-16))*2 =10 10 pts. That gutsy 16 seed pick win would score 7x the points and rightfully be rewarded for it. The scoring scales linearly as the seeds get closer together until they potentially converge into even seeds (hence ESPB) playing each other in the Final 4. You can also submit multiple entries for only $10 each. We also have Survivor and Confidence pools as well all picked before the start of tip-off tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!March Madness is back upon us! $20 for a primary entry which includes entry into 3 pools with prize allocation as follows: 80% Tournament Bracket, 10% Survivor and 10% Confidence. Additional unlimited entries will be for the Tournament Bracket pool only and are $10 each. Each pool will have 1 prize for every 10 players or fraction thereof with each prize winning 50% more. $1 is set aside for each player to run the pool. No additional fees are taken for multiple bracket pool entries. Only one slight change this year to the confidence pool points from 3/2/1/0 to 4/3/2/1 within each seed grouping.
